Christ Our Lord is risen today! Alleluia! Alleluia!!

03-31-2024Weekly ReflectionFr. Aruldoss

Dear people of God,

Today, we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ! This event is the greatest event in our Catholic faith. It is through the resurrection that Christ defeated sin and death and opened for us the gates to eternal life. A journey that began sorrowfully on Ash Wednesday has ended joyfully toady. Light has eventually overcome darkness and we have seen the glory of Christ.

The simple and short story is that, Christ has completely overcome the power of death. By his resurrection this Easter, Jesus makes a very important statement. That is, he is both the Lord of the living and of the dead. He has fulfilled his promise: “I will rise on the third day.” The battle is over, and there is no controversy, because Jesus is Lord! The Lord has won the battle for our salvation.

Today, a new epoch has completely begun because the historical Jesus, who suffered, who was crucified and who died, has been glorified through his resurrection. He is now the glorified messiah, and he lives to die no more. We all have a share in this glory. Hence, from now, this shall be our story: God has resurrected his Son, Jesus Christ from the dead.

The Risen Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8). The Easter conveys that our God is a loving God, the source of life, the God of life and love “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." (John 3:16-17).

He is alive! May the risen Redeemer shine on each one of us and our families this glorious Easter day and for the rest of our lives. Let us celebrate this glorious day with prayer and feasting, for Christ is risen! And let us strive to carry this Easter joy with us all year long by the way we live our lives and how we respond to Christ each day. I assure you that I am praying for you all. Happy Easter!

Have a Happy and Grace-filled Sunday!
