FROM OUR PASTOR

God Offers a Second Chance

03-24-2019Father Prince Raja

The liturgy of the Third Sunday of Lent begins by acknowledging God´s holiness and his claim on us that we belong to him. It recognizes that we are his own people, and must live in a way that reflects his holiness. God offers us the gift of faith as our path towards holiness. At the same time we all want and desire to live a peaceful life. We all want to make sense of our existence. We all desire to live a life where we can make a positive contribution to ourselves, to our families and to those around us. Challenges are always with us, difficulties surround us. However the more we long, desire and develop a personal and ultimate relationship with Jesus Christ as our best friend, there is absolutely nothing that we cannot face and overcome. Indeed we become the "power and the wisdom of God".

Stations of the Cross

Friday Stations of the Cross with Solemn Benediction will be held on Friday evenings during Lent at the Church of St. Boniface at 7:00pm.

Immaculate Conception will have Friday Stations of the Cross offered on Friday mornings at 7:30am before Mass. Since our stations will not be ready until this summer, we have some on loan from the Polish Museum of Winona. Father Breza has graciously given us some from his own collection. He has a beautiful collection of Catholic statues and artifacts.

Wednesday Stations of the Cross will be offered by the Jr. High and Sr. High School Religious Education Classes on Wednesday evenings during Lent starting Wed, Mar 13 at the Church of St. Lawrence, 8:00-8:30pm; closing with Solemn Benediction. Parents are encouraged to attend and Parishioners are most welcome to attend.

NET Team Hosts Needed

We have a great group of individuals coming to hold a Retreat for our Confirmation Students at St. Lawrence on Wed, Apr 24. We have the privilege of hosting NET ministries for the evening. Some of the activities include: music, skits and personal testimonies. NET stands for National Evangelistic Team, which is made up of Catholic young adults from all over the country.

Another exciting part of this opportunity is having the experience of hosting one (or more) of these young people in your home. Meeting and learning about someone from another place can be interesting and rewarding. Please prayerfully consider opening your home to these young people that Wednesday night. There are 10-12 members on the team. You will need to provide breakfast and a sack lunch for them on Thursday.

Please contact Deacon Ed or the Parish Office if you are willing host.
