Dear People of God,

Good morning to you all. The Inspired by the Spirit campaign of our tri-parishes has reached an important milestone. It is all because of your big sacrifice, and prayers. My gratitude to all those who have made a pledge. If you have not already made one; still, you can pledge. Pledges may be paid over a five-year period. Please do remember that if we exceed the goals, our parishes will receive 80% of the money back towards our Parish Projects.

I also express my sincere thanks to all those who prayed for me, wished me and sent me cards & gifts on my Birthday (The 15th of June). It was a great day. I am so grateful for your prayer and support.

“Fear no one.” — The words of Jesus from today’s Gospel according to Saint Matthew are so strong! The first reading today is from the Prophet Jeremiah. He had lots of people trying to end his life and to make his life difficult if he lived. He tells us that even his friends had been working against him. Yet he knows that God is with him and that he need not fear. Of course, sometimes his enemies made his life difficult. We can still encounter very difficult situations. But if our trust is in the Lord, we know that in the end, all shall be well.

We return to the words of Jesus: “Fear no one.” In today’s world, we Christians are more and more likely to encounter problems. This condition in our world will most likely only increase. We should not want to abandon our faith in order to avoid being reject, mocked, scorned and judged by others. Most of us want a simple and quiet life to live in peace.

The challenge for us is to hold fast to the words of Jesus: “So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows”. Jeremiah says it well, “But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph.” God can save us from fear if we learn to trust Him. God is love, and perfect love casts out all fear. If we fully grasped the fact that we will live forever, our only fear would be of offending God, of falling prey to temptation, of committing sin. That also means that we must cling to the teachings of the Lord Jesus without any fear. Fear is the root of sin and the main tool of the devil. Let us try to live a fearless life by putting all our trust in the Lord. Have a Happy Sunday!
