Dear People of God,

Praise the Lord! On this twenty sixth Sunday, all the readings point to the final end of the unjust, the triumph and comfort of the poor and just.

In the first reading, the prophet Amos continues his treaty against the rich and influential of the society who oppress the weak and the poor. He pronounces God’s judgment on those who derive their joy and comfort from the miseries of the poor and the weak. This comfort will soon disappear as snow disappears,

Be a Good Steward

Dear People of God,

Praised be Jesus Christ! On this 25th Sunday, the readings call us to reflect on our attitude towards money, material things and our relationship with the poor and marginalized. If there is anything that has perpetuated poverty all over the world, it is injustice and inequality in the social class. Hence, Amos in today’s first reading decries the injustices meted out against the poor of the land.

God Waits for Us

Good morning to you all. The Lord our God is God of Love, Mercy and Forgiveness. This is the theme of this Sunday. In the first reading of today, we discover a God who is faithful to his vows. He also demonstrated that his love and mercy surpass his anger and judgement. As a merciful and compassionate father, God heard the prayers of Moses on behalf of his people and relented in the punishment he had intended to inflict on His People.

Be My Disciple

Dear People of God,

Good morning to you all. On this twenty third Sunday of ordinary time, we are called to meditate about the spirit of commitment and self sacrifice of Christ. It was this spirit that made Jesus give up everything, including his own life for our sake. In today’s gospel, Jesus teaches about the demands of discipleship. He says: “If anyone comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:25). What does Christ mean by “hating”?
