Dear People of God,
Good morning. I am very sad to let you all know that I have to leave our beautiful country due to the expiry of my R1-Visa and the sudden denial of my green card application. My green card application was denied due to recent changes in policy of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). Since my green card application has been denied, it’s dependent on my “work permit” (EAD) is also automatically invalid. So, the Diocese of Lacrosse can no longer employ me. So, I am leaving for India on 16th September.
Though I am very sad as a human being, as a priest, I firmly believe that the Lord who chose me for His ministry, will lead me continuously according to Will. You are all very well aware of my journey for the last four years and two months in these three parishes and a school. It started with the Covid-19 pandemic and we all covered our faces. I have a lot of sweet memories. It will be a sweet memory always throughout my life.
William Callahan and current Bishop Battersby for the opportunities I have had to serve the Lord and these three Catholic churches in this role for the last five years and two months. I know that you all loved me very much. Thank all for your prayers, love, Support, cooperation and hospitality. I appreciate the support and guidance you have provided during my time in this position. If God is willing, I may come back to our diocese after a year. Please keep me in your continued prayers. I recite every day one Rosary for you all and recite a few more Rosaries for other purposes. Very. Rev. Father Willian Dhein will be here with us this weekend in all the Masses to thank you all.
On this 24th Sunday, the readings highlight faith, trust in God, and the call to follow Christ. In today's first reading, Isaiah speaks about listening to God and not rebelling. We are called to be attentive to God’s voice in our lives. In the Gospel, Peter confesses Jesus as the Messiah. Recognizing Jesus’ true identity is essential for our faith. Jesus calls us to take up our cross and follow Him. We must be willing to face challenges for our faith. Jesus teaches that losing our life for His sake leads to true life. Sacrifice is part of our commitment to Christ.
Yours in Jesus.
