Dear People of God

Praise the Lord! Good morning. I express my hearty thanks for your great support towards the Inspired by the Spirit Capital Campaign. By this time, all families of our parishes might have received the Campaign Materials through Mail. This campaign material gives us the real purpose of this capital campaign. If you have not received those materials till now, please give a call to our parish offices. We will be very happy to send them to you. If you need any clarifications regarding campaign, please give us a call.

Today we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord, At the end of His earthly life Jesus ascends triumphantly into heaven. Today’s feast is a culmination of the events of the Paschal mysteries of Christ. it was evident that the death of Christ was never going to be a defeat, but a victory, exaltation, a glorification.

The First Reading of today says that He was lifted and a cloud took Him from their sight. In the gospel reading of today, Jesus gives His final instructions to the Apostles. Just before leaving them, he reminds them of what he expects of them. “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Mt 28: 19-20). He sends them out to speak and act in his name. Their mission was both easy and hard: easy to understand but hard to carry out. It was to teach others all that he had taught them.

The message of salvation must continue to be shared until the end of time. With all the changes in the world, neither Jesus nor his message have changed. His Gospel remains a call to live our lives to the full. He is with us always. We assume our mission in full knowledge that Jesus has not left us, but remains with us as a constant presence to direct and to guide us until his work is done. With His presence, all things are possible, even the salvation and healing of the whole world. Let us try to be true witnesses and messengers of our lord Jesus through words and deeds. Have a Happy and Blessed Sunday!

Yours in Christ

Fr. Doss
