From Our Pastor

04-09-2023Weekly ReflectionFr. Aruldoss, Pastor

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Christ is Risen! Indeed! Alleluia! Today, throughout the world, the Church’s proclamation resounds: “Jesus, who was crucified, has risen as he said. Alleluia!” After 40 days of fasting and prayer we joyfully sing, “The Lord is truly risen – Alleluia!” As we celebrate this special feast, I especially extend a warm welcome to anyone who is visiting with us from other places or faith backgrounds. Where, O death, is your victory?

Where, O death, is your sting? Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 15:55, 57). We know God is powerful. He overcomes evil and even death. This gives us hope and joy. The Risen Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8).

Easter is a reminder and encouragement that God in Christ continues to love and care for the whole world, overcoming death with life, conquering fear and uncertainty with hope, the Easter message conveys that our God is a loving God, the source of life, not death, the God of life and love “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." (John 3:16-17).

How does the resurrection of our Lord resonate with you today? He rose from the dead for your sake, and there is no need for you to remain in the tomb of sadness, hopelessness, and despair when He has overcome the powers of death and the grave. You need to rise and run like Mary Magdala to give your witness about the resurrection.

While I extend wishes of Happy Easter to all of you and your families, I especially want to thank those who made this Easter so beautiful: Deacon, Pastoral & financial council members, Office Administrator, PCCWs, K/C members, Ushers, Church Decorators and Cleaners, Leaders, Servers, and Musician & Choir members. May the peace of our Risen Christ be with you all.

He is alive! May the risen Redeemer shine on each one of us and our families this glorious Easter day and for the rest of our lives. Enjoy this glorious Easter Day and Season and may God bless you all.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Doss
