Dear Parishioners,

My sincerest thanks and appreciation, both to the Diocese of La Crosse and Father Arul Doss (Pastor) for allowing me to be able to come to his Tripatile Parishes of Fountain City, Alma, and Waumandee for the Annual Mission Appeal Program.

On November 20, 1969, the Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi was carved out of the Archdiocese of cape Coast Ghana - West Africa. The Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi is situated in the southwestern coastal part of Ghana. The Diocese is bordered on the west by LaCote d'Ivorie, on the east by the Central Region of Ghana and to the south with the Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean). The Seat/See of the Diocese is the Twin City of Sekondi-Takoradi.

The general statistics of the Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi since December 2020 is as follows:

  • Number of Catholics - 421,215
  • Number of Ghanaian Diocesan Priests - 180
  • Number of Religious Sisters (local) - 42
  • Number of Religious Brothers - 15
  • Number of Lay Missionaries - 4
  • Number of Permanent Deacons - 1
  • Number of Diocesan Seminarians - 43
  • Number of Catholic Schools = Kindergarten - 120
  • Primary Schools - 195
  • Junior High Schools (JHS) - 58
  • Senior High Schools (SHS) - 5
  • Technical College - 1
  • Vocational School - 3
  • Number of Catholic Hospitals = 3
  • Number of Catholic Clinics = 4

My prayerful regards and blessings for the Diocese of La Crosse for the permission to organize the Mission Appeal at Fr. Arul Doss' three parishes, on behalf of my Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi, Gahana-West Africia.
