Wishing you a Joyful Christmas

12-20-2020Weekly ReflectionFr. Arul Doss

Dear People of God,

Greetings of love and Peace to you all.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas. How are all in your family? I pray at the Altar of Christ for your happiness and good health. Many more blessings of God be with you all.

The year, 2020 has brought chaos in our life. The Covid-19 has changed our life a lot. Mask, Sanitizer and social distancing have become part of our life. It seems that fear and anxiety has permanently stayed with us in our days. “Be Positive” is the recommendation of good people to anyone but now, we pray after the test that let it not be positive.

A lot of things have changed this year. But this is the year that we need stronger Faith and fraternal Support for one another. This is the reason I write this to you in this Bulletin. I want you to know that I care and pray for you every day. Carve these words of Psalmist (73:26) in your heart, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Let God be our strength and let our prayer be our portion. Let us shine overthrowing all evils of life.

I thank many of you for your continued support to our three Churches. It is amazing. By and large we are able to manage the expenses of our Churches with your contributions. Your love for our Churches in the form of service and financial support is admirable. Thanking you so much. As a pastor, I gently encourage you to know that we need your support continuously for our parishes by your weekly contribution. “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7) Be a Cheerful Giver.

As for the Diocesan Annual Appeal, we reached the target in time last years. For this year, we need $4,520 to reach the target of $20,085 for Fountain city Parish. We need $4,020 to reach the target of $12,920 for Alma Parish. Good news is that our Waumandee parish has reached the target now. But Whatever our diocese gets extra over the target will be given back (rebated) which will be used for our Waumandee parish. Thanks for your contribution this year.

I know what the year 2020 has brought into our life. I pray that all anxiety, fear, illness come to an end. Let Baby Jesus shine in our life bringing Healing and Peace. Finally, my dear friends, hold on to whatever is true; whatever is honorable and whatever is just. Keep on doing the good things. Never be dismayed or frightened. Hope in the Lord always.

Once again, I wish you all a Joyful Christmas. Let our Baby Jesus bring us the normality of life and joyful sharing of love and peace with one another.

Yours In Christ Jesus,
Fr. Doss
