Have You Cried Lately?

I would like to introduce to you a very ancient reality that many people today experience and they don't know why? I can tell you there are no real answers to why some people have this ability. These are graces that have been given to those who need them, the Gift of Tears.

Tears hold a special kind of power to cleanse your mind, reconnect the head and heart and realign you with the power of your soul, but many people see tears as a form of weakness, as being "childish" or giving into negativity. We need to refuse to accept the worldly view of tears and embrace them as Holy.

Holy Tears are experienced by some people when they enter into or participate in holy or religious activities. Some people may cry when they read the Passion of Christ or gaze at a picture of Jesus, or Mary. Some people may weep when they pray, or sing. Some people may have such a love for God and His Church that their soul must burst into tears to say what words cannot. They have no explanation for this phenomenon, it just happens. It is a good thing!

My first experience with Holy Tears was when I connected myself with Jesus in the Eucharist during Perpetual Adoration; I was so overwhelmed with the immense love of His presence, that although I was there to pray, I couldn't pray. I wept.

Now looking back, I realize that my heart and soul needed healing. These tears were God's healing for me. The tears were beautiful, and they were exactly what I needed.

When you cry, it's your body's natural response to whatever challenging emotion has appeared in you at that time. We have no control over it. We should not even try to block those deep feelings from coming out. Crying is an act of physical and emotional detoxification.

Think of each tear as a physical representation of your emotions; sadness and stress, joy and happiness, which you're now letting go of, or that you need to express. If you stop yourself from crying, and don't use some other technique to release your emotions they can and will build up to a point of depression, or being overwhelmed. Let the tears flow. Have a good cry, experience this powerful form of release, and let it go.

If you feel like crying, don't suppress it… Let your tears flow so you can purify your mind, body, and emotions of stress and negativity and joy… On the other side is a new level of peace, love, and light. Have a good cry this Lent. Dwell on the Sacrifice and Passion or our Lord, and rejoice in His Resurrection.
