Merry Christmas

12-25-2016Weekly ReflectionFr. Brian Jazdzewski

Emmanuel, God is with us! We rejoice with fellow Christians around the world that our God has chosen to become one of us; the beautiful miraculous gift of the Incarnation. God taken on human flesh never happened before and has not happened since in any other world religion. We truly believe in a miracle.

Jesus among us helps us to believe and grow in faith. His presence is what calls us to do so many good things in our lives. We continue to strive to be more than a good citizen, we strive to be a good Catholic! We want to be remembered by others and known by God as a person of faith.

I have the privilege of being Pastor of these three parishes and the gift to see God’s work each and every day. You, in some way, have been part of those gifts. I thank you for what you do for your parish, whatever that may be. Among those gifts you offer is stewardship of time, talent and treasure. Your prayers, your presence in church and parish activities, your financial contributions are only a sampling of the countless ways I see God with us.

Further, my work is only as effective as the support Staff who surround me. Each day these individuals, often in silent ways, push forward the message of the Gospel for our members from infancy to elderly. Working for the Church in the modern day has its own measure of sacrifices; please join me in extending gratitude to those who are employed in our parishes and school. And, when you get a moment, offer some intentional prayers for our Staff that they may be strengthened in their work to share the Gospel message.

Be sure of my prayers for you and those you love during these days of Christmas and always that we will continue to be messengers of the good news who bring God’s presence to the people of Buffalo County and beyond.
